Breaking Dawn Book Report

I read Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. It’s the fourth book in the Twilight saga. Bella is married to Edward Cullen and so now she is a Cullen too. I think that the main character Bella is kind of dumb. She is always trying to protect people who don’t need her protection when she should be trying to protect herself. she always wants things that she can’t have or that she shouldn’t have.  I think that Bella is also very nice. She is always kind to the people she knows and she tries not to hurt the people that she cares for. She is very stuborn. When she was pregrant with her baby everyone was trying to get her to let them take it out of her so it couldn’t kill her, but she wouldn’t let them because she loved the thing inside of her. She was strong willed too. When Jacob came to the Cullen’s house to visit her she tried to act like she was okay and that she was strong even when she was very fragile and sickly. She is also determined. When she set her mind on something nothing the other people could do would stop her. Bella is very self consious. She is always trying to please other people. She thinks that if they are happy with how she looks than she can be happy with how she looks. When somebody looked at her for to long she would think that something was wrong with her, even if nothing really was wrong with her. She is very loving. She really loves her husband and her family a lot. When she held her baby for the first time nothing else mattered to her. It was just her and her baby. Bella is also persistant. When she wanted something that she didn’t have there was not much anybody could do that would stop her from getting the thing that she wanted. She would keep on bugging or begging people to give her what she wanted untill they would give it to her. Bella is really passionate. If she likes something or someone than she will stick up for them and help incourage them. Bella can be anoying. Sometimes she getts on peoples nerves when she acts like she is okay when she’s not.

One conflict in the book is Bella wanting Edward to “change her” into a vampire, but Edward not wanting to. Edward doesn’t want to end Bella’s life but Bella wants to be a vampire so that she can live forever with Edward. Bella is always hinting that he should change her through out the story and he is always avoids the question or says no. when Bella gives birth to her baby she is on the verge of death and Edward doesn’t want her to die, so he changes her into a vampire.
Another conflict in the book is Bella wanting to keep her child even though it is killing her when almost all of the others want her to let them take it out of her. Bella wants to have the baby because she pictures a miniature Edward in her mind and she thinks that it would be good for them. Edward wants her to get rid of the baby so that it can not kill her. After a few days Bella stated to grow weaker and get sicker and that just strengthened Edward’s dislike to the “creature” that was inside of Bella. In the end Bella gets her way, but she ends up getting a little baby girl.
A third conflict is Bella wanting Jacob in her life. Bella was in love with jacob for a while, but it wasn’t  love love, it was the love someone has for a brother. She doesn’t want him to leave her life but having him stick around is making him want to leave. When Bella has her baby the urge for Jacob to stay near seems to have left her. She doesn’t seem to need him anymore. But she finds out later that he has fallen in love with her daughter. And eventually he will be her son-in-law.
Another conflict in the book is Charlie. Charlie is Bella’s dad. Bella has wanted him in her life but it would be impossible because he can’t find out about vampires. Jacob comes up with a plan and in the end the find a way that allows Charlie into their lives and he still doesn’t know that they are vampires. But he still gets to see Bella and her daughter and visits regularly.
I really liked this book and I would highly recommend it.

  1. Pt 1 - I'm still mad at Bella for leading Jacob on! Plus I think she is arrogant! But, I digress... Good adjectives. Let's break into paragraphs and see if you can use some quotes as support.

  2. Pt 2 - Best in the series, I'd agree. Define conflicts as internal/external. Nice work.

  3. Eclipse is the best, not Breaking Dawn. :)
