When I was 11 all of the 6th graders went to Powder Ridge to go skiing for a day. I have never skied before then so I went with the group of students who were learning how to ski. The teacher was soooo slow that it took her over an hour, I wanted to just skip and go on the ski lift.
When I got done with the ski class the first thing I did was ski over to the lift and got a ride to the to of the hills. When I got to the top I was amazed with the view from the top of the hill, I could see a ton of tiny houses in the distance, and they looked like they were tiny little toys! When I looked back at all of the hills it was like they grew from the time I had gotten off of the ski lift! I was so nervous that I made a friend go down the Out Back with me, after that all day I was skiing on the hills like a pro, I think.
When I started to get hungry I went on one last hill and then took off my skis and went inside the building to eat my lunch. After I ate my lunch I chatted with some of my friends as we warmed up and we walked around inside the building for a while. After I was warmed up I got the urge to go skiing again. I sad see ya later to my friends and grabbed my skis, and got on the ski lift. As I was on my way up to the top of the hill the teachers announced that it was 15 minutes tell me were leaving, that meant that this was my last ride. About half way to the top of the hill the ski lift stopped, and stayed there, and I waited, and waited, and waited, it took like 8 minutes! When it finally got moving again I was totally sicked to got on the hill, on my last ride down i went on the hill right next to gunpowder and leaned forward, for speed. The wind whipped my face and plastered my hair to my face as I rocketed down the hill, it was the steepest one, and at the last second I slowed down, and slid to a stop at the bottom of the hill.
That's my favorite memory from Westwood when I was in 6th grade.
We might want to look at the second paragragh. I found a few errors. Other wise it sounds good!

ReplyDeleteHey Ashley! That day was a really fun day!! (even thought I didn't know you.) I liked how you liked that you loved skiing!! (Skiing is one of my favorite sports.) One thing I did notice though is that you were forgetting some of your puncuation, but other than that it was great!
ReplyDeleteI liked how you described that it seemed to take forever, but with numbers under twenty, it usually looks neater to write them out.
